Join us in the kitchen for a fun and educational summer of cooking and eating! Just like our in-person classes, all summer long, our virtual camps and workshops will teach professional culinary techniques to children through specific recipes to ensure a better understanding of cooking.
This year, three chefs meticulously chose each recipe for this purpose, and these instructors are teaching the Virtual Environment.
PLEASE READ THIS:
You are signing up for virtual summer cooking classes, which will consist of a combination of live and recorded classes. The live classes will be 90 minutes to 2 hours, and cover 2 recipes each day starting at 11am, (or 2pm if expressly stated) from Monday thru Friday, with recorded video assignments.
We will take meticulous care to make sure that each child gets the attention they need, to create each dish.

MEMBER ACCESS for Unlimited Customers who PRE-Paid this Summer:
In order to access Webex information, secondary recorded videos, recipes and ingredient/shopping lists, you must be a member. Access must be manually sent by Cookology staff. So it might take up to 1-4 hours before Cookology.live will send you an email asking you to create a password. You can log into the member site to retrieve that information at any time of the day and night. Even the live Webex instruction will be recorded and available to watch any time.
MEMBER ACCESS FOR NEW CUSTOMERS:
MEMBER ACCESS must be manually sent by Cookology staff. So it may take up to 4-6 hours before Cookology.live sends an email to ask you to create a password.
HOWEVER, if you have signed up for a week or weeks that occur two weeks or more from the current date, you WILL NOT RECEIVE MEMBER ACCESS until one week prior to your class. So if it is currently week 3, and you have signed up for week 6, you will receive the member password in week 5.
WEBEX: Each week, an assigned Webex classroom link will be sent SUNDAY EVENING. All WEBEX videos will be recorded and available to watch again! The link will be shared.
We will keep the size of the class to no more than 25 attendees but I don't predict that all classes will be filled each day to capacity. We also have FOUR instructors who will be on hand to teach throughout the day from 11am - 1pm or when specifically stated, 2pm-4pm. All Classes are only Monday - Friday.
FOOD & FOOD COST:
Given the pandemic, we have tried to make use of basic pantry items, and have made sure that the stores around the area were stocking what each dish required. We encourage everyone to use Instacart for purchase and delivery. It is absolutely the best way to compare prices with other stores, find items that some stores might not have, and have the food delivered to your doorstep.
Our estimate for food cost for each week is in the range of $65-$150 per week, this depends on the amount of servings your child makes.
Ingredient Lists will not be released until Wednesday or Thursday preceding the week you purchased. Why? We are understaffed, and while we understand this may be an inconvenience, we are doing our best to get it done. Please do not sign up for the class if you feel you are unable to get groceries from Thursday - Sunday. Please do not email us, angry that we cannot produce a shopping list before Wed or Thurs. We are hindered by lack of staff, lack of funds, and are honestly doing our best.

Preferably a chef knife for kids 12+, a smaller knife or paring knife for kids ages 8-11
Wet measuring cups
Dry measuring cups
At least two cutting boards
Cheese grater, or a micro plane would be great
Various Sized Mixing Bowls
NOTE FOR PARENTS: It is your responsibility or the responsibility of a guardian to make sure that the children are safe at the stove top and oven, and when using knives. Cookology will not be responsible for any injuries occurring during this video in your home. If you cannot be available during the class, when it's time to cook, we will instruct the child to wrap the dish and put it in the fridge until it can be cooked with a caregiver.
ALLERGY ALERT: Parents and/or guardians are responsible for making the Cookology staff aware of their child's allergies at the time of booking and at the time of sign-in on the first day of camp. For the safety of every child, ALL ALLERGIES (mild to severe) must be listed including the severity and nature (topical, air-borne, or ingestion) of each allergy.
CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds will be given once class has been assigned to pre-paid customers, or once it has been purchased by new customers.

Due to covid-19, all in-house Cookology classes at both of our locations have been cancelled. As we go through the reopening process in Virginia, we will determine, as a team, whether it makes sense for us to open, and then reach out to the community for your input.
